25 Things About Me Self Reflection
Some things that inspired me while creating this artwork were rain, which inspired the rings around the circles rippling in the water. The media I used were oil pastels, paint, and paper. I chose to use the paint for the background and some of the circles, the oil pastels for the ripples, because the oil pastels show up over paint, and I used the paper circles to look like they're falling into the water. I intended for this to be viewed as calming. My inspiration for this was walking in circles. Some decisions I made while making this was the colors of the circles, since my canvas was black I decided to make them colorful so they would stand out. A difficulty I encountered was trying to get the circles inside the circles visible, i was able to do some with paint pens and others with oil pastel. I think something I would do differently would be making the background more like water, I would want it to be blue instead of black. I researched more about walking in circles, and the meaning behind it. I think the most successful aspect of my art was the rain concept because you can recognize the water droplets.
